About

What happened to the first linguist

Before Dr. Louise Banks arrived at the Montana landing site, there was another linguist: Dr. Aaron Walker. He had to be medically evacuated. Something went wrong inside the alien vessel, something he couldn't explain. In the months before the film's release, a Dropbox folder gradually filled with Walker's documents, photos, and videos as he tried to reconstruct what happened and decode a message that might change everything.

I designed and wrote the ARG experience: all in-fiction materials, the discovery structure, and the month-long investigation arc. A full archive lives at arrival-arg.tumblr.com.
